The
Elementary Program:
a child-centered pedagogy
The CSJV elementary class features a unique concept with innovative pedagogical and organizational practices aimed at improving educational success and the overall development of students while respecting their learning pace.
It is made up of Grade 5 and Grade 6 students, a format that ensures learning continuity, with two co-teachers who guide students in a flexible and stimulating classroom.

How does the
program work?
In elementary, students learn in a multi-level classroom combining Grade 5 and Grade 6 students, following a cycle-based teaching approach that ensures pedagogical continuity and a lasting connection with their teachers. Co-teaching allows for close support and better attention to each student's needs.
The classroom is set up with flexible furniture and integrates technology to support engagement. The program is bilingual, with some courses taught in French and others in English. The schedule places great importance on work plan periods, promoting student autonomy, organization, and accountability.
A stimulating, caring,
and collaborative environment
Multi-level
The multi-level classroom model fosters daily collaboration and mutual support. Students learn to work together and value each other's strengths. Additionally, Grade 6 students serve as mentors to younger students, developing their leadership and self-confidence.
Co-teaching
Co-teaching allows for better responsiveness to each student's needs: while one teacher leads the lesson, the other provides targeted support. Combined with cycle-based teaching (pedagogical continuity), this model promotes continuity and allows instruction to be adjusted from one year to the next. Elementary students work with a work plan.
A bilingual program
In the CSJV elementary class, some courses are taught in French, while others are taught in English (CCQ, history, science). From the first months, we notice rapid progress in English language learning.
