Community
engagement: a
requirement at CSJV
The Community Engagement Program (CEP) is an integral part of the student experience at CSJV. It aims to develop values of kindness, mutual support, and openness to others (see our Mission, Vision, and Values section), while inviting them to reflect on their role as citizens in society.

Through concrete actions, students become aware of the importance of community life, improving their environment, and the transformative power they can have at their level.
Every hour given, every action taken contributes to building a better and more supportive world. Getting involved provides a deep sense of satisfaction and the conviction that our presence truly matters. It's also a way to say thank you and to help others.
Getting involved means:
- discover your strengths and talents;
- expand your circle of friends;
- explore various career options;
- gain experience;
- build a network of contacts for job searching.
Beyond the hours, the CEP is an experience of personal growth and a concrete way to have a positive impact around you.

Required hours and deadline

Deadline: All hours must be completed and the validation form submitted before the Friday preceding the National Patriots' Day holiday.
How to participate: a simple 3-step process
To facilitate student involvement in our community engagement program, we have implemented a simple and efficient process.
Identify your interests
The first step is to fill out a short online form indicating the student's areas of interest (arts, sports, community engagement, environment, etc.). This information helps us better guide students toward projects that match their motivations and values.
Choose a project
Once interests are identified, students will have access to various community engagement opportunities that match their preferences. They can also propose their own project, provided it meets the program's criteria. This approach encourages students to get involved in initiatives they are truly passionate about.
Submit completed hours
Engagement hours are reported using a dedicated online form. This digital process simplifies hour tracking for students and staff, while enabling efficient project management.
Students are encouraged to show integrity in reporting their hours, as verifications may be conducted as needed.
