At Collège St-Jean-Vianney, artistic activities offer students a space to express themselves, push their limits, and have memorable experiences. Whether you are a beginner or already passionate, our activities are open to all. A great way to build connections and challenge yourself.
Our educational pathways
At the College, the art education pathway begins at admission, allowing future students to choose a path they are passionate about for their entire five-year journey. Whether in music or visual arts, this lasting choice promotes rigorous and consistent learning progression throughout the secondary years. This unique structure allows students to build strong foundations, deepen their technical mastery, and see their talent evolve within a thoughtful and enriching artistic pathway.
By choosing the Music pathway, you will learn:
- Mastering an instrument: Develop your technique and accuracy over the years.
- Musical language: Read music, understand theory, and explore composition.
- Ensemble playing: Experience the unique thrill of playing within a group.

By choosing the Visual Arts pathway, you will learn:

Our artistic troupes
The troupes are accessible to all student-artists. Participating in one of the troupes means:
- Developing your creativity and confidence
- Building bonds with other young people who share the same passion
- Exploring new artistic techniques
- Participating in unifying projects and shows
- Committing to a cultural discipline throughout the year
Classes take place right here at the College, once or twice a week, between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
Each troupe has its own character... and all offer an unforgettable experience!

Active participation
Our various artistic troupes are part of many cultural events at the College and are closely tied to the student life of our school.
Theatre Troupe
Through the theatre troupe, young people learn different acting techniques, discover character creation, and take the stage to present a full-length play. The experience is immersive: creation, rehearsals, emotions, camaraderie... and curtain up!

Singing Troupe
The CSJV singing troupe allows students to explore the joy of singing solo, in duets, or in a choir. Harmony, rhythm, cohesion, and stage presence are at the heart of the activities. Students also participate in several important shows throughout the school year, such as the Christmas show and Secondaire en spectacle.

Improvisation
Troupe
Very popular at CSJV, improvisation helps develop listening skills, quick thinking, and spontaneity. Students participate in weekly matches and represent the College in several tournaments throughout the year. They also help organize a flagship event: the Coupe des Dragons, CSJV's improv tournament!

Registration for artistic troupes
Registration takes place at the beginning of the school year. Everyone is welcome (elementary and secondary)!
Events and Shows: The stage is yours
Even without being part of a troupe, students can participate in or simply attend many annual events:
- Christmas Show and Secondaire en spectacle
- Dance concentration show
- Theatre plays and various performances
The Fine Arts Academy
This program offers students many opportunities to express themselves, create, and thrive while developing their creativity and a solid artistic foundation. In addition to deepening their technical knowledge and exploring various mediums, young artists will dive into the world of art history. A true training school, the Academy positions itself as a springboard for budding artists, offering tailored guidance to nurture their passion and talent.
